Flying HIGH!!!

I am flying at 35,000 ft over Alabama and reflecting back on the last few days in Marco Island FL, after attending our 7th m2 Wealth Conference and once again the bar has been raised to an unprecedented level.

Kip and I have always been out of the box thinkers and deciding the lineup of speakers for each m2 can be very trying. How far should we push the envelope? Are our members ready for this information? How will this speaker benefit our members? Many questions are asked before deciding each speaker. Speakers are handpicked and selected for each event and the response from this m2 has been over whelming!!!

After seeing our Country go to hell in a hand basket over the last few months, we knew that it was time to really reach out to our members and provide them with an education that many have never had before. We wanted all of our m2 attendees to understand why this is happening to our economy and our country, what the future holds, how they can take advantage of these gloomy times and be positioned to survive the economic tsunami.

If you are getting your information from CNBC, Fox News, CNN or any of the news channels you are getting it from the wrong sources and you are totally misinformed.

Our m2 attendees were enlightened and inspired as they heard the TRUTH from the real experts in various field of money and finance. Not from the Controlled News media.

I had so many of the attendees come up to me and thank me for giving them the truth. As hard as the truth maybe to accept for some, I know that the truth always resonates. I know that some hearing this information for the very first time will now feel compelled to continue on their quest for validation of the truth. That is exactly what we want from our attendees and members. TO LEARN TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES!!!

I am confident that the universe has brought Kip and I together to give birth to WMI. I know we have been blessed with the most talented marketers in the world. I now know that the envelope has been opened and our members are now inspired more than ever to share this message of truth to the world one person at a time. You see, once you know the truth you can never turn back.

I was interviewed on camera before leaving the m2 and ask many questions about the speakers, the content of the m2 and such. The last question I was asked was, “What do you enjoy the most about building this amazing company?” My answer is always the same, “It’s the incredible WMI Family I get to mingle with at each event and work with on a daily basis.” This will never change. I mentioned earlier that the Universe brought Kip I and WMI together for a reason. I also know that each one of you have also been attracted here in one way or another for a reason. We are honored to have each of you in our WMI family.

I also want to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Let’s take this time to reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for and enjoy the precious time we have to spend with our loved ones over the next few days.

Do you have what it takes?

Do you have what it takes to be successful in the direct sales industry? Have you ever asked yourself that question? And if so, what was your answer?

 

We all look at top producers and we think they are different than us. They are smarter. They were born with a silver spoon in there hands. They have all the people skills, marketing talents and know how, and it is so easy for them. They got started and from day one they have had success. SO why can’t I?

 

My guess is that we have all had these conversations in our minds. And we can feel picked on because we are working our buns off and are seeing little to no results. Yet we seem to be doing exactly what the top producers are doing. But are we really?

 

Top producers were at one point, right where you may be now. STRUGGLING! In fact, in more than 10 years of being in this industry I do not know one person that did not have to put everything they had into getting really good at this game called direct sales.

 

Here are a few things that I think separate the successful from the unsuccessful. I call it the 3 D’s. Desire, Determination and Drive.

 

Desire: Do you really want to change the quality of your life? We all answer yes to this question but do we really have that white hot burning desire for change. This is what it takes. There are going to be many more downs than ups in the first few months of being an entrepreneur. Trust me. And ask any top producer, you will always get the same answer. But if you truly have the desire it takes to succeed, that desire will feed and nourish you thru those hungry times. So desire for change is the first key ingredient.

 

Determination: I see determination as someone that had put their blinders on and nothing is going to derail them. They are totally focused on the job at hand and know what they need to do to complete it. People with determination have listed their daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and long term goals. They have a road map on how to accomplish them and nothing and I mean nothing is going to get in their way before reaching and achieving all of them. This is how I see Determination. Total focus and commitment 24 hours a day 7 days a week if that is what it takes. So do you have a boat load or so of Determination? If not find it.

 

Drive: Drive is an inner strength inside each of us. It pushes us when we are down and gives us that shot of adrenalin and gets us wired and exhilarated when things begin falling into place. It makes us anxious to get out of bed and do what we do each day. I see drive as work ethic and let’s face it; this business is a workers program. It always has been and it always will be. But your Drive will keep you in the game till it is fun and not a burden. And as you know, when we enjoy something it is no longer considered work.

 

So how do we work and improve on these important areas of our life? By reading great books, listening to great personal growth courses and lastly and most importantly, SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE KIND OF PEOPLE YOU WANT TO BE!!! Birds of a feather flock together. What kind of people are in your circle of influence?

 

If you have relentless Desire, Determination and Drive, nothing and I mean nothing will ever get in your way. Yes you will still have ups and downs as we all do, but soon the downs are very minimal and infrequent. And you will begin to attract amazing things into your life you never thought possible.

 

Any of us can have anything we want in life. Anything.

Giving Birth to our WMI Baby

We had our first m2 in December of 2005 with only 37 people in attendance. We now have had 6 m2’s and our 7th just a couple weeks away. We also have over 12,000 members in about 18 different countries. So to look back at where we were and where we are now is truly an amazing story in its self.

The bottom line is that we have built WMI the right way. We work with 3 of the top law firms in the country. We knew early on that if we built it right they would come. And have they ever.

For those of you that are already part of our WMI Family you know that we have the top many of the top marketers on the planet right here at WMI. The team effort and camaraderie is second to none. Working in this industry now full time for almost a decade I have never worked with such a tight nit group. Everyone is here to help the other. It is truly amazing.

For those of you that maybe looking for a home, we are confident you have showed up and the right place at the right time. You, like so many others will be proud to tell people that you are part of our WMI Family. Our company was built on honor and integrity and that will never change. That is our promise to each of you.

So what does it take to really be successful in this industry? Can anyone do this? Do you have what it takes to be a top producer?

I will cover this and much more as we continue on this amazing journey together.

Did I Really Fire My Boss? You Gotta be kidding me!!!

 

So here I am now with my last pay check from the mines in my hand. I am scared to death if ya want to know the truth. But I can’t let anyone know. Everyone tried to tell me not to leave my job. What if I failed and they were right?

 I was now running my Business Full time and loosing sleep at night. For a few months I was wondering if I should pay my mortgage of buy more leads. Each time I choose to buy leads because I knew that if I ran out of leads I would be out of business. I remember I had to crawl to my Mom and ask her to borrow me $3000.00. How humiliating that was. I asked her to please don’t tell anyone and that I promise I will pay you back.

 I met Kip in Dec. of 1999 at my first level 2 event. In January of 2000 I had my first 5 figure month. I was so damned excited. I have finally broken the 5 figures in a month. It felt really good. I was making it. At the next level 2 I was actually called on stage to receive an award for top sales. Man that felt so good and I was so surprised. I had not idea I was in the running. I was on stage at each event I went to after that and so was my mentor Manny. A few months later I was invited to join the leadership and become a national call host and trainer. I was so honored to now be working side by side with all the top dogs.

 My mentor Manny and I always teased each other about him being the Master and Me, well I was the Grasshopper. Then one day at a future event I was again on stage receiving my award and I had actually made more sales then Manny had. I thanked him for believing in me and he said that the sign of a true Master is to Teach the pupil how exceed the Master.

 I had my business now dialed in and it worked like clock work .I was still working very hard which I was not afraid of and willing to do what others were not so I can do what others cannot someday. That has always been my motto.

 So I had several years of great success then I received the Call from Kip Herriage on Dec. 4th of 2004. This call would take my life in a totally new direction. WOW….has it every.

 Oh Yaw….I did pay my Mom back…I also bought a 7 day cruise for her and her husband to show my appreciation. I may have never made it with out her. Thanks Mom!!!

I am OUTTA HERE!!!

Ok…if this is your first visit to my blog I suggest you go below and read my story as this will bring you up to speed with what I am about to share today.

Back in May of 1999 I received an email and called an 800 number, left my name and number. I received a call back from a guy named Manny. He invited me to a live conference call that evening. I remember that there were people calling in form all over North America. I was already impressed.

The call talked about a company with a 3 tier product line. With the first at a price of $1250 and a commission of $1000 per sale. I said to myself….I can do this. And a $1000 per sale, if I can do one or two a week I can kiss my job goodbye.

I remember driving to work the next morning, I was excited and sharing this with my buddy Dave and told him that I was going to borrow $1500 and get started. Dave thought I was completely out of my mind. “You are going to borrow $1500 and send to a complete stranger in Visalia California?”  I got a little wind knocked out of my sails but still borrowed the money and got started. Then I crossed my fingers for several days hoping that I did in fact receive something in the mail. Thanks God I did. I was then very excited and ready to get going. I listened to the information each day going to work, got on every training call I could in the evening and in the mornings when I was on swing shift

Pretty soon it was time to pick up the phone and start prospecting. Not sure if I was really ready for this but here goes. I had really poor leads. I was cutting my teeth and had to start some where but talk about brutal. People yelling at me for calling them, hanging up on me and I remember I had a really creepy guy that told me he was going to hunt me down and kill me. That’s right. He hated people like me ands was on his way out here to take me out.

Any way, I was talking and getting a few takers to attend the calls, I started doing 3 ways and soon I made my first sale which paid my Manny. Then my second sale…which also paid Manny. OK…my 3rd level one sale I Made $1000.00. Right on….never done that before…it worked and it felt really good. Then a week later I made another sale. I now had Les and Augustine on my team. Look out here I come.

So I was totally focused. When I worked day shift I would come home around 6 pm and get on the phones till 9 or 10 each evening. When I was on Swing shift I got home at about 3:30 am so I would get up and on the phones by 8 or 9 am and work the phones till about 1 and then pack my lunch and off to work.

So I had been working the business and made a few more sales over the next or so. Then my world came crashing down again.

I got a call from Dave at the mine at like 1 am in the morning. He told me that my best friend Greg was found face down in the mud at the mine and that he was dead. I was immediately in a state of shock.

Greg and I were the best of friends. We had done everything together for the last 25 years. Every hunt, every camping trip, ever weekend him and I were doing something. Sometime our wives thought we spent too much time together but if I had free time Greg was usually my fist choice as he was such and entertainingly guy. We did a lot with our families together.. We even built our homes right next to each other back in 1984 and I was now going to have to walk next door in the middle of the night and tell his wife that he was dead.

I called Cherrie’s Father and Mother and told them what had happened and to get down here so they can go with me when I tell her that he was dead.

I gathered up my courage and we walked into the house into the bed room, gave her a nudge to wake her up and then told her the bad news.

Man the next few days were total hell as you can imagine. I was asked to speak at the funeral. But if you know hoe emotional I am, I was not sure I could do it. But I could not say no. After the funeral I made the decision that I would never go back to the Coal mines.

When I told my family what I was going to do they all thought I was out of my mind. Giving up a great paying job, medical benefits and a pension? What was I thinking? Guess I had lost my mind. I was making a sale here and there but I had not replaced my income by any means. But I figure if I can focus and do this full time then I will make it. So I burned all my bridges and walked away from my job. This was the scariest decision I had ever made in my life. The fact that I no longer would be getting a pay check every two weeks. That getting paid was 100% up to me now. I can still remember getting my last pay check and knowing that this was it.

OK, as I say all the time: “You can make money or you can make excuses, but you can’t make both.” So what did I choose to do? Will pick up from here next time.
